I fell in love with a boy when I was 19 years old, and we were married. 3 months ago, we separated.
I have listened to your song, Shake It Out, about a million times since then. Literally, about a million times. I've listened to it when I'm feeling empowered, and when I'm feeling sad. I've listened to it when I'm feeling happy too, or mad. I drive around in my car and sing along.
I don't know if you'll ever read this with your own eyes, but I'd like to thank you for being there with me on this crazy journey of being 35 years old and single again, for the very first time. Thank you for the words I use to "shake it out" myself, when I can't think of any words myself.
